The Six-Week Objective Audit
Fourteen learning objectives stated across six weeks of teaching material. None fully delivered, four partly, ten not at all — and one pattern that explains almost every case.
The standard being applied
Each week opens by stating what a reader will be able to do at the end of it. Those statements are the material's own commitment, which makes them the only fair standard to judge it against — not an external syllabus, not a comparison with another course, not an opinion about what ought to have been covered.
One question is asked of each objective: could a reader who worked through the week do the thing the week said they would be able to do? Where the answer is yes for part of the objective and no for the rest, it is recorded as partly delivered, and the split is stated.

Assessed against each week's own stated objectives, quoted from its opening slides. Earlier weeks of the subject — introduction to research, developing a topic, the literature review, ethics and the proposal — are audited on their own pages and are in better condition than these six.
The pattern behind ten of the failures
Ten undelivered objectives across six weeks is not ten unrelated oversights. The same failure recurs, and recognising it is worth more than memorising the individual cases, because it is a test you can run on any material you are handed.

The four
Create a methodology appropriate to your proposal
You get the decision criteria — four inputs, three capability tests, nine selection questions — and not the options they apply to. The catalogue of methodologies is deferred elsewhere and none is described. Criteria without options.
The first of its three objectives
Measures are defined and concepts are not; nothing is interpreted. The week's strongest content — six sampling types — sits under a different objective from the one it best serves.
Plan presentation styles for quantitative data
Seven table rules, three graph principles, one formula, a four-aspect reading procedure — and no worked table, no surviving chart, and no rule for choosing between display types.
Explain how results are presented and discussed
The best of the four by a distance. Around a thousand words of specific, usable guidance on two sections of a research report the library had nothing on. Unillustrated, and internally contradictory on its central rule.
Where the material is genuinely good
An audit that stops at the shortfalls is unfair and, worse, unhelpful — it does not tell you where to spend your time. Several parts of these six weeks are strong, and they are the reason the streams exist.

- The material is genuinely strong on questionnaires, sampling vocabulary, the worked categorisation, and writing up. Spend your time there.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a criticism of the teaching?
No. It assesses the supplied files against the objectives those files state, which is the only standard available. Where a document is missing, the page says so and draws no conclusion about what it contained, and it identifies seven parts of the material as genuinely strong.
How can an objective be stated and not delivered?
Most often because a set of items is named without being described. An objective to compare methods is not met by a grid of method names, and an objective to evaluate coding options is not met by material that names no coding option at all.
Why do three different totals appear across this library's sources?
Two extracts were produced independently, each covering a different subset of weeks, and each reported a running total for what it could see — twelve and eleven. The fourteen-objective figure covers all six weeks and supersedes both. Every page in the library cites fourteen.
Which gap should I close first?
The statistical one, if your project involves quantitative data. You are given one rule expressed in a unit that is never defined, no measure of dispersion, and no inferential procedure — and that gap can invalidate analysis you have already done, which none of the others can.
Does the library fill any of these gaps itself?
No. The commissioning standard is that missing information is named rather than invented, because a reader who knows they need a second source is better served than one given a plausible definition attributed to material that does not contain it.
