How It Works

Clear scope first. Then the work.

Every engagement follows the same simple pattern, so you know what you are getting, when, and for what price before substantial work begins.

Four stages.

  1. 01

    Tell us the problem

Describe the job, the problem or the project. Drawings, photos and a short explanation are usually enough to start the conversation.

  2. 02

    Scope the work

KEVOS defines the scope, deliverables, assumptions, timing and commercial terms in writing before substantial work begins.

  3. 03

    Complete the engineering work

The agreed work is carried out, with check-ins at sensible points so questions are answered early rather than at the end.

  4. 04

    Deliver and close out

Deliverables are handed over in agreed formats, questions are answered and the work is closed out cleanly.

What KEVOS defines up front.

After the first discussion, these are confirmed in writing before substantial work starts. Nothing significant should come as a surprise.

Scope
What is included, and just as importantly, what is not.
Deliverables
The drawings, documents, models or plans you will receive, and in what formats.
Assumptions
The information, access and decisions the work depends on.
Timing
When the work will start, key check-in points and the expected completion.
Commercial terms
The price or rate, how changes are handled and how invoicing works for that assignment.

Pricing that suits the job.

  • Fixed-price proposals

Encouraged for suitable small assignments with a clear scope and defined deliverables.

  • Staged discovery

For problems that are not yet well defined: a short first stage clarifies the problem before the main work is quoted.

  • Day rate or time-based work

For flexible or evolving tasks where the scope is hard to fix in advance.

  • Monthly support

Ongoing engineering and documentation support on an agreed monthly arrangement.

For suitable small assignments, a fixed-price proposal is usually the simplest option. Where the problem is not yet clear, a short discovery stage avoids paying for the wrong solution. Payment terms are agreed for each assignment as part of the proposal. Pricing is indicative only and depends on scope, complexity, site requirements and deliverables. GST applies where applicable.

What to send with an enquiry.

None of this is essential to start. A short description is enough, and KEVOS can help define the scope. Please only share information you are permitted to share.

  • A short description of the problem or project and what “done” looks like
  • Existing drawings, models, photos or documents, if you have them
  • Any deadlines, constraints or site requirements
  • Whether a site visit is likely to be needed
  • Who will make decisions and be the main contact

Ready to describe the job?

Send a short description. KEVOS will reply to discuss the scope and the best way to price the work.
