Custom Mouthpiece Design for Sleep Apnea Patients

KEVOS® partnered with OVENTUS to reimagine sleep apnea treatment through precision-engineered, patient-specific oral devices — replacing the discomfort of conventional CPAP therapy with a discreet, clinically effective alternative.

The Challenge. Sleep apnea affects millions globally, yet traditional CPAP machines suffer from notoriously low compliance due to bulk, noise, and discomfort. The clinical community needed a treatment patients would actually use night after night — one that adapted to the individual rather than forcing the individual to adapt to the device.

Our Approach. As authorised design partners, KEVOS® operates within a streamlined clinical workflow: patients receive a high-resolution intraoral scan at their local pharmacy, data is securely transmitted to OVENTUS, and our team transforms it into a precision 3D model. Using CSIRO-developed proprietary software, we engineer each device to the millimetre — analysing oral anatomy, optimising mandibular positioning, and validating every model against strict therapeutic and ergonomic parameters before final 3D production.

The Solution. A custom-fitted oral appliance that gently advances the jaw to maintain airway patency throughout the night. Every device is anatomically unique, manufactured via additive production for accuracy, repeatability, and rapid turnaround — bridging clinical-grade engineering with a frictionless patient experience.

The Impact. The collaboration delivers a non-invasive, highly accessible therapy that meaningfully improves treatment adherence and patient outcomes. Clinicians report stronger compliance and measurable improvements in sleep quality, while patients describe the device as transformative compared to legacy alternatives.
