About Kevin Jogin

I'm Kevin Jogin, an engineering and project-delivery professional with 25+ years taking products and programs from concept to production. I work where hands-on engineering meets disciplined project delivery. I've held technical design authority on patent-protected consumer hardware manufactured at scale, and I now lead capital-equipment and operational-excellence projects from end to end, covering requirements, procurement, governance, verification and handover. KEVOS is my professional platform. It brings together my portfolio, my methods and the practical knowledge I share.

Professional Summary

who I am

I began on the tools with a trade in tool and die-making, then spent a quarter-century moving up through precision manufacturing, R&D product development and heavy industrial design into project and operational-excellence delivery. Today I work as an Operational Excellence Engineer, running capital-equipment projects, production-line setup and Lean and value-stream improvement under formal milestone governance. That work is backed by a Master of Project Management (University of South Australia, 2023), and underneath it sits real engineering. I've personally held design authority on products that now ship through national brands. My aim is straightforward. I carry complex engineering work from intent to a delivered, governed outcome, with the judgement that only comes from having built the thing yourself.

How I work
"Delivery, de-risked by depth"

Plans, baselines and governance hold only when the person running them understands how the work is actually built. I pair project delivery with first-hand engineering judgement.

  • I deliver project, program and operational-excellence work across scope, schedule, cost, risk and assurance.
  • My work is built on 25+ years of concept-to-production engineering and patent-protected product design.
  • I am an Australian citizen, eligible to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance.

Delivery, Now
Projects and OpEx

Master of Project Management and Operational Excellence Engineer, with the full foundation applied to project delivery, governance and operational performance.

This arc is cumulative, not a departure. The engineering depth behind the products is exactly what now de-risks the projects I run.

How I Deliver

how I run projects
Approach

Plan 70, Run 30

70% Plan, baseline and de-risk upfront
30% Execute and assure

Most failure is designed in early. I front-load requirements, baselines, risk and stakeholder alignment so that execution stays disciplined and the costly surprises of rework, variance and slippage are engineered out before they occur.

What I optimise

Waste and Variation

Reduced via Lean and VSM audits

System Bottlenecks

Surfaced via ERP time-tracking

Inventory Flow

Streamlined with Kanban

Production Readiness

Assured via first-off inspection

Proven impact: targeted interventions delivering about 15% waste reduction and about 10% production-efficiency gains on live production lines.

Selected Projects

capital, process and design work

Here is a selection of the projects I've delivered. They include recent capital-equipment and operational-excellence work, along with the product-design programs behind the engineering foundation. Where projects involved contractors, suppliers and cross-functional teams, the descriptions reflect my own role in planning, engineering and delivery.

Operational Excellence: capital and process projects (2024 to present)

Capital · $130,000 · 5 months

PC Jig Stripping Line

I replaced a hazardous manual jig-stripping process, which had relied on chemical cleaning by pressure washer, with a two-line automated facility. The new system used concealed chemical and wash tanks, gantry-mounted two-axis hoists, AODD transfer pumps and hard-plumbed chemical flow to IBCs, and it removed manual handling entirely. I ran scope and requirement specifications, contractor management, safe-work methods, operator training and production handover. The line was delivered in about five months at around $120,000, under the $130,000 budget.

Capital · $350,000 · 8 months

Louvre Manufacturing Line

I managed delivery of a new in-house louvre manufacturing and assembly line over about eight months. My role covered budget estimation and control, weekly stakeholder reviews, supplier selection through a decision matrix, and contractor coordination through machine and fixture installation. I produced installation qualifications, work instructions and value-stream maps, then signed off operator competency before handover.

Process · $10,000 · 2 months

Plastic Powder-Coating Jigs

I planned and delivered custom paint-line jigs that enabled a double-layer powder-coating capability for plastic components. My work covered the work breakdown structure, design support, execution planning and manpower coordination. The project was completed in-house for around $10,000, at under half the planned budget, and ran about 10% over schedule. It added a capability that few local manufacturers can offer.

Process · Lean and VSM

Lean Line Improvement

I identified bottlenecks through ERP data and introduced a Kanban system. This reduced waste by about 15% and lifted production efficiency by about 10%, while cutting unnecessary movement on the floor.

Engineering design and product development (2010 to 2024)

Hardware · Patent-protected

DS1 Chainwinder

Doric window chainwinder, patent-protected under AU 2021209316. I completed full DFM across the moulded, aluminium and zinc die-cast variants, and it was manufactured under a national brand.

Security · Patent-protected

Double-Hung Sash Lock

Doric double-hung sash lock, patent-protected under AU 2018902653. It is a multi-material assembly of aluminium, zinc, stainless and acetal, shipped as a production product.

Hardware · In development

Twin Chainwinder Range

Doric DN400 and DN450 twin-chainwinder programs, with extruded-aluminium and die-cast cover variants and centre-gear drivetrains. These are currently in development toward production.

Hardware · Product

DR2210 Door Roller System

Adjustable twin-roller carriage, designed end to end for volume manufacture and reliable in-service performance, and delivered to production.

Medical · Devices

Sleep-Apnea Mouthpieces

Patient-specific anatomical devices, modelled from 3D oral scans alongside clinical research teams at Oventus.

Heavy Industry · Civil

Mining and Infrastructure

3D modelling for coal-export load-out systems at Wiggins Island, and structural design for BlueScope's Coke Plant No. 6, all code-compliant and build-ready.
